Artist Statement

In the dance of tools and the silence of material, my art emerges, guided by the wabi-sabi philosophy's appreciation for impermanence and imperfection. My approach, defined by contemporary organic abstraction, seeks to merge fine art and functional design, offering pieces that are aesthetically compelling and, occasionally, utilitarian. Not all creations serve a practical purpose; some stand as pure sculpture, others include interactive elements inviting deeper engagement.

Utilizing natural materials like wood and aluminum, my work transcends mere objecthood to become conversations in time, their grains, knots, and textures narrating tales of resilience and uniqueness. The tranquility of Ottawa’s landscapes and the richness of my Indian heritage blend into my creations, bringing forth a blend of innovative and traditional methods in my studio practice.

These pieces are designed to be more than visually appealing; they are invitations to viewers to embark on a journey that goes beyond the surface, encouraging reflections on self-love and the beauty of flaws. In this realm of shadow and light, of the raw and the refined, I aim to inspire a celebration of personal narratives and the joy of embracing life's imperfections.

Step into my world, where each cut and contour is an emotional journey, a step towards self-acceptance, and an open invitation to find beauty in the perfectly imperfect.
